How to Cancel an Order at Shockwarehouse

Plans change — and sometimes you need to cancel an order before it arrives. Whether you selected the wrong part, found a different solution, or simply changed your mind, here's how order cancellations work at Shockwarehouse.

Can I Cancel My Order?

It depends on where your order is in the fulfillment process:

  • Order not yet shipped: Yes — contact us as soon as possible and we can cancel and issue a full refund.
  • Order already shipped: Once an order has shipped and you've received tracking information, it cannot be cancelled in transit. You'll need to wait for the delivery and then submit a Return Authorization Request instead.
  • Backordered items: If part or all of your order is on a manufacturer backorder and hasn't shipped yet, you can cancel the backordered items. Just contact us and let us know.

The sooner you reach out, the better. Orders placed during business hours can begin processing quickly, so contacting us within a few hours gives us the best chance to catch it before it ships.

How to Request a Cancellation

Contact our customer service team and include your order number (starts with "S"):

Our team will confirm whether the order can be cancelled and process the cancellation for you.

Refund After Cancellation

When an order is cancelled before it ships, you'll receive a full refund. Here's what to expect:

  • Refund processing time: Your refund is typically issued within 1–2 business days of the cancellation.
  • Refund to your account: After we process the refund, it usually takes 1–3 additional business days for it to appear in your account, depending on your bank or payment provider.
  • You'll receive a confirmation email when the refund is issued.

What About the Pending Charge on My Card?

When you place an order, your bank or credit card company places a temporary authorization hold on the purchase amount. This is not an actual charge — it's a hold to verify the funds are available.

If the order is cancelled before it ships:

  • We will void the authorization so the funds are never captured.
  • The pending hold typically drops off your statement within 3–7 business days, depending on your bank.
  • Some banks release the hold sooner. If you see a "pending" charge after a cancellation, it should resolve on its own — you were not actually charged.

Tip: If the pending charge hasn't dropped after 7 business days, contact your bank directly and reference the voided transaction. You can also reach out to us and we'll provide a cancellation confirmation.

Cancellation Fees

In most cases, there is no fee to cancel an order that hasn't shipped. However, please note:

  • Non-stock or special-order items that have already been ordered from the manufacturer may be subject to a 10% restocking fee if cancelled before shipment.
  • International orders involving non-stock items that are cancelled before shipment may also be subject to a restocking fee.

What If I Already Received My Order?

If the order has already been delivered, it's no longer a cancellation — it's a return. Shockwarehouse offers a 45-day return window from the date you receive your order. Visit our Returns page to submit a Return Authorization Request, or see our article: How to Return or Exchange Parts at Shockwarehouse.
