How to File a Warranty Claim at Shockwarehouse
At Shockwarehouse, we stand behind the products we sell. If you believe you have a defective shock, strut, or suspension component, we're here to help you through the warranty claim process. Here's everything you need to know to get started.
What Is Covered Under Warranty?
Most shocks, struts, and suspension components sold by Shockwarehouse come with a manufacturer's warranty that covers defects in materials and workmanship. Each brand has its own warranty terms and coverage period:
- Bilstein — Limited lifetime warranty on most shocks and struts
- Fox — Varies by product line; check your specific part
- KYB — Limited lifetime warranty on most products
- Monroe — Limited lifetime warranty
- Rancho — Limited lifetime warranty
- Koni — Varies by product; typically limited warranty
Important: Normal wear and tear is not covered under warranty. If all of your shocks or struts need replacing at the same time, that is typically a sign of normal wear rather than a manufacturing defect.
What You Will Need
Before submitting your warranty claim, gather the following information:
- Your Order Number — This is the Shockwarehouse order number (begins with "S") from your original purchase.
- Photos of the Defective Part — Clear photos showing the issue (leaking, physical damage, broken mount, etc.). Multiple angles help speed up the process.
- Vehicle Information — Year, make, model, trim level, and drivetrain (2WD/4WD).
- Vehicle VIN — Your Vehicle Identification Number is required by most manufacturers.
- Mileage at Installation and Current Mileage — This helps the manufacturer assess the claim.
- Description of the Issue — A brief explanation of the problem you're experiencing.

What Happens After You Submit
Once we receive your warranty claim:
- Our team reviews the photos and information you provided.
- If additional details are needed, we'll reach out by email.
- Approved claims are forwarded to the manufacturer for processing.
- If your claim is approved, we will coordinate a replacement shipment or refund depending on the manufacturer's policy.
- If a return is needed, we will provide a prepaid return shipping label.
Tips for a Smooth Warranty Claim
- Keep original packaging — If possible, keep the original boxes. You may need them to return the defective part.
- Take photos before installation — If you notice any issues when unboxing, photograph the part before installing it.
- Respond promptly — If our team requests additional information, a quick response helps speed up your claim.
- One part at a time — If you have an issue with a single shock, submit the claim for that specific part. Claiming all shocks at once may indicate normal wear.
Common Questions
How long does the warranty process take?
Most claims are reviewed within a few business days. The total resolution time depends on the manufacturer's processing speed, but we work to resolve claims as quickly as possible.
Do I need to pay for return shipping?
If your warranty claim is approved, Shockwarehouse will provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you.
What if I installed the part and it's now leaking?
Installed parts can still be covered under warranty if the issue is a manufacturing defect. Submit your claim with photos of the leak and we'll review it.
